Always read the instructions carefully before commencing a perm treatment. 1. Diagnosis: Assess the hair quality and select the correct lotion. 2. Preparation: Cleanse the hair without massaging the scalp – Recommendation: BC Deep Cleansing Shampoo for normal hair. BC Repair Rescue Shampoo for slightly porous or porous hair. Towel dry the hair. Even out the porosity when required by applying one of the Natural Styling Pre-Treatment sprays through the lengths & ends prior to winding, comb through, do not rinse out. 3. Winding: Wind in the desired manner. The intensity of the perm depends upon the hair texture and the curl result is determined by the number and size of rollers used. Difficult to perm hair, fine, normal and slightly porous hair should be kept moist when winding. Porous, tinted and highlighted hair should not be allowed to dry out and must be kept damp when winding. Do not pre-dampen with lotion. Apply skin protection cream. Protect the hairline with damp cotton wool. Starting in the nape carefully apply a small amount of lotion evenly to each roller. Repeat the lotion application to ensure thorough penetration. Remove cotton wool after perm lotion application. 4. Processing times: Tinted, highlighted and porous hair*: 10-15 Min. without heat. Do not use heat. Highlighted between 30-70% hair*: 5-10 Min. without heat. Do not use heat. Do not exceed the maximum process guide time. Rinse the hair thoroughly for 5 minutes with warm water. Towel blot to ensure excess moisture is removed. 5. Neutralising: Starting in the nape of the neck, carefully apply 2/3 of Natural Styling Neutraliser to each perm rod. Leave to process for 5 mins. Gently remove the perm rods without pulling the hair. Apply the remaining 1/3 neutraliser to the lengths and ends of the hair. Leave for further 5 mins. Rinse with warm water for a minimum of 5 mins to ensure all neutraliser is removed. 6. Post Form: After the final rinse we recommend to apply either BC Repair Rescue Conditioner or SEAH Cashmere Wrap. On bleached & porous hair use either BC Repair Rescue treatment. *NOTE: The first test curl should be taken after the minimum processing time. On very porous hair it is advisable to perform a strand test prior to starting the form treatment. For further instructions please read IFU.
